KT2 Combo will not boot from floppy drive
Hi there folks
Have just installed a KT2-combo mobo and cannot get the system to boot from the floppy drive.
This drive appears to work ok (ie can write to and read from).
I have used the floppy drive and boot disk in another system with no problems.
The system will boot from the CD rom drive and from a hard drive with operating system already installed.
I used a hard drive loaded with W98SE from another computer. Booted up on the KT2 combo mobo. Prepared a floppy disk with Format a: /s. This disk would not boot on this computer. Took this "bootable" floppy disk to another computer with a different mobo and floppy disk drive and it booted up no worries to A> prompt. Took the floppy disk back to the system it was created on and "nothing".
Booted up via CD rom drive to Norton utilities. Norton tells me that command.com and io.sys have missing/crossed clusters. But the disk just booted up on another system (and more than once).
There must be something I'm missing in bios settings or something! somewhere!!!
regards
