Several programs starting when Computer Boots

edited January 2005 in Science & Tech
I have several programs starting at once when I boot my computer. Where can I go to change these, so their not starting when I boot my computer? So I only have programs I'm using running, instead of a whole lot of other stuff running that I'm not even using. Slows down computer too.
Thanks

You can choose what you want at startup through MSCONFIG.

Start > run > type "msconfig" (without quotes), go to the startup tab and uncheck what programs you don't want.

    Reboot your computer

Thank you very much. It worked, and it's a lot better.

 Isn't it fun *NOT* when your PC acts up.
To be of any help we need to know: what OS you are running, do you have all the current OS updates, and are you protected from viruses?
    My Best to you,
