OK... Here is my problem, I'll start with the details first.

I bought and recieved yesterday a Gigabyte K8NS Pro motherboard, a AMD Athalon 64 2800+, and 256 mb of DDR 400 patriot ram, and a new antec 330 watt true power psu.

I installed all of this and was hopingthat this would all work together caue my computer seems to be so "tempormental" so I plugged it all in and hooked up my 60 gig hard drive that had windows 2000 pro and windows xp pro on it that I installed when the P3 600 mhz system was in. and I thought it would just go ahead and boot up just like it did before since I was jsut unplugging the hdd from one mobo into another. but guess what?

It will come up and ask me to choose which operating system to boot to, and which either one I choose, I believe it is the BSOD that comes up, I've attached a link to a pic of the screen since I cant do prnt screen.

Any and all help is appreciated.

    ok...

You have moved from INTEL to AMD, always a good choice.

You will have to do a clean install of both operating systems. Both of your current windows installations are geared for the intel p3 system. Windows will choke big time as the device drivers required for the hardware is completely different.

I suggest you format the partitions and do a nice fresh installation. Well its not a suggestion, it is really the only way you will get it to work...

You can do a repair install with Windows, but it may leave residual problems. Your best course is a fresh, complete reformat. As gobbles said, windows is looking for all the drivers from your old computer, and the new components simply can't work with them.
