Auto-updates for Longhorn?

The Washington Post reports that Microsoft is contemplating the use of an 'automatic upgrade' system to its future software releases, in an attempt to minimize the likelihood of users getting infected by worms, viruses and other instrusive and destructive security threats.
Apparently the main difference between the new proposed scheme and the current one used by Windows XP, is that the updates won't be limited to critical software adjustments and people will be able to more easily opt out of the auto-upgrades process, which will probably be seen as an important function by large organisations and businesses, which often have strict policies about applying patches and such in those environments.
