problems with LCD's DVI connection

I just got a new LCD as a gift. When I hook it up through the DVI connection I get a corrupted screen filled with red dotted lines and messed up colors. This only does this in 1280X1024 not in 1024X768. Changing refresh rates doesn't help. This resolution works fine using the analog cable.

Anyone heard of a similar problem?

this is the monitor http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-004-005&depa=1

The video card is a new XFX 6800GT.

Thanks,
Madball

Madball, i take it that you uses the newest drives right? I have seen a few peeps that have problems with one of those resolutions on Nvidia cards together with LCD and DVI. Just for kicks, try a little older driver and see how it works.

Yeah, I'm using newest beta drivers so I can use the new Nvidia PureVideo DVD decoder. I've tried the most current WHQL drivers with no luck, but I'll try some older versions. Thanks Mackanz.
