looking at the new DFI nForce4 motherboards and I noticed they had Dual Gigabit LAN. I thought hey thats neat, but I couldnt think of a reason why I would need dual LAN. So that's my question, whats the point of these mobo's having dual LAN and how could I use the feature?

Dual homing. So you can connect to two networks at the same time. Eg.. cable or DSL & a private network :)

Most don't need dual gigabit but its simple for the manufacturer to implement. One goes to the router and the other goes to the gigabit swith (which are getting VERY cheap these days)

I still like my 8 port smc gigabit because it does jumbo frames but just a cheap gigabit switch is really dropping in price.
