Resident Evil 4 Finally Spooks Stores

After months of delays, the latest chapter in Capcom's ghoulish survival horror series goes on sale.
There's no question that Resident Evil 4 was one of the most anticipated games of 2004. But that all changed in August when, after months of sticking to an ambiguous "winter 2004" release date, Capcom announced that the game would just miss the holiday season and ship on January 11, 2005.

However, once committed, Capcom has stuck to its schedule. Resident Evil 4 has indeed shipped and begun arriving in stores across North America. The ultragory survival horror game is rated M and retails for $49.99. It is currently available only for the GameCube, although a PlayStation 2 version is due later this year.

Set after the events of previous RE installments, Resident Evil 4 follows series protagonist Leon S. Kennedy on an all-new adventure outside Raccoon City, the setting of the most of the previous games. This time around, the US government operative has been sent to a small European village in search of the president's missing daughter. However, since this is a Resident Evil game, he instead finds zombies--lots of zombies. So, armed with a variety of firearms and melee weapons, he fights his way through the ghoulish horde to learn of the first daughter's location and the zombies' origin.

    From what I've read, this game kicks some serious Gamecubed Zombie butt :cool:

    No PC version though and I don't want to buy a gamecube :(

    hey man it's not out yet but konami said that they want to produce it on next console xbox2 playstation3.

    have gamecube and re 4 and give it a 10! as hard as the game may be i am addicted to it. lastest games to try out have been burnout 3 for ps2,solid snake 3:snake eater for ps2,and re 4 for gamecube. in me opinion i say these should be the three best games of the year!

    rofl..... gamecube is better than ps2....the graphics and the games.... and resident evil 4 is said to be the best game ever made...it even beat halo2 and san andres in ratings and reviews.....and silent hill is so rubbish it doesnt stand a chance agaisnt resident evil 4

    I Love resident evil more than silent hill because in first game you have more action.but silent hill more horror time than resident evil.
    RE game only fear you by jumping stupid zombie in front of you... :D

    resident evil 4 best graphics ever on console FACT and with near zero loading try that on xbox cough no chance prime 2 better graphics and loading than xbox resident evil best graphics ever windwaker best cell shading ever fzero fastest racer ever new zelda will crush even res evil 4s graphics cubes control pad so so cumfy and persision anologs simply the best console on the market no opinions please im talking FACTS and FACTS beat anyones opinions xbox most powerfull hummmmmmmmmm 9million polygons maxed out gamecubes hitting 20million in res evil 4 and new zelda and with lighting effects to masterbate over and paying for online play is a total ripp off free online play with revolution and ds i garantee it

    Capcom are some bitches. RE4 was supposed to be exclusive to Gamecube, but they decided to release it for all consoles as well as Viewtiful Joe, just because teh Cube don't rake in the dough. RE4 is good though. I tap that ****.
