Take a large work unit, add in a poor dial-up connection and you get 37 min to send and recieve a single wu. My poor machines are not beeing kep loaded because I can't work around my family and keep them busy.

rant: In order to speed the conversion to high speed internet access (read high cost internet access) ISPs are now deliberatly degrading the quality/speed of dial-up. At least Earthlink is. Using their software and all of the settings that they suggest I can almost reach the speeds that I was getting all of the time three years ago. <end rant>

Man, that really sucks, Ed! Have you gotten the phone company to check your phone lines out lately? I know in the past that I had problems at times with phone lines getting noisy because of the weather situation here, in soggy bottom La (as KF calls it! :D ). If you are like me, I have no broadband choice besides sat broadband, which is what I went to when I'd had enough of slow dialup access. :(
