I have a computer
Intel pentium 4 2.4
Mainboard shuttle MV43N it includes the LAN and sound card ac97
80 Gb
500 something RAM
I recently formated it and reinstall everything but I have no sound at all, I already reinstalled the Audio and chipset drivers from the company updated, The device is not off on BIOS, it is recognized by device manager without conflicts, the speakers work, no mute on.
Please help

Have you made certain the speakers are plugged into the proper jack? I hate to sound like a jerk but I've seen it several times that folks would get their pc, take it home, hook it up and call us complaining the sound wasn't working only to bring it back and the sound was fine. After discussing it with them it usually ended up being that they were plugging the speakers into the auxilary input by mistake because the pc was in such a spot that they couldn't make out the color-coding on the jacks.

I just thought I'd ask is all, if that's not the problem you might make sure that your mixer is set to playback controls and not recording controls because the mute can be on in the playback controls and off in the recording controls and you get no sound even though it looks like the mute is off.

Thanks for answering, but no I already tried all the posible plugs and I am sure is the right one. I also check the mixer but it is OK.
