Problem is, you have to plug it in via IDE cable to the Floppy drive bit and plug it into one of the USB connections on the mobo (specs below)

Now there is only 4 holes that need to be plugged in, and there are 9 pins to choose from (a 4 pin in 1 row and 5 in the other, you know what I mean)

Ive no idea how its supposed to go in, and when I have tried it disables my on board USB, so at the moment its unplugged

Any ideas?

    as I understand it 5 of those 9 pins are used for power, if it's not a powered device you only need 4 pins......

    from looking at this: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/printpage.php?id=90 I'd say you only need to connect pins 3,4,5 & 6..... I could be wrong though, might want to check with someone who knows what they're talking about :)

    The 9 pins are for 2 USB ports not 1. Out of the 9 pins one of them (the one not next to another pin in the top row is an extra ground (or N/C) that is not always needed). So you have 4 wires to connect and need to know what they are. The manual that accompanied your device should list what they are and should be labled;

    +5 (power)

    G (ground)

    +D (data)

    -D (data)

    You need to connect them accordingly to match the pins on the mobo. Generally they are left to right.

    top row:
    +5, -D, +D, G, NC (or extra ground for devices that have it on the plug)
    bottom row:
    +5, -D, +D, G

    Hope this helps.
