Does anyone know if the Nintendo Camecube supports HD resolutions?

The component cables are near impossible to find, and it looks like they are 40$. If the device doesn't improve the visual quality much, I have a hard time caughing up the 40$...

BTW Resident Evil 4 PWNS!!!!!11

I think it only supports up to 780p but I could be wrong. Also, it depends on the game, I know many of them don't support the better resolutions. I wanted to get the cables at one point, but I never did and my cube has been relegated to paperweight status.

Not sure. I know it supports "progressive scan," which is supposed to give better quality, but I'm not sure if that's technically HDTV...

No, it just means it draws all the lines in order, instead of interlacing them (720i). You can have 1080i and 1080p too.
