Soyo KT880 Dragon 2 HELP

IDE 0 AND RAID OK IDE 1 IS INOPERABLE NO MATTER WHAT I TRY. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE??? ANOTHER GUY WHO BOUGHT THIS DISCONTINUED MOTHERBOARD GAVE UP AND TOOK IT TO A LOCAL TECH I KNOW FOR HELP. I CAN'T AFFORD TO DO THAT AND I KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST FOR HELP ON SORE SUBJECTS LIKE THIS DAMN BOARRD. YOU GOT ME THROUGH INSTALL JUST FINE ON IDE 0. NOW WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO USE MY CD-RW AND MY DVD ON IDE 1. I AM GUESSING I WILL HAVE MY ANSWER BY MORNING AT THE LATEST. HOW ABOUT IT ANY TAKERS???     alright, first explain to us what u mean by INOPERATABLE??

    have u tried the CD and DVD drives on the other IDE channels on the mobo??

    I have tired others too everything I can think of aboulutely notihing works. I have built 3 other systems NO PROBLEM AT ALL but this motherboard is a royal pain and only due to IDE1 not working at all!!!

    The only way I can get a CD-RW to work at all is by removing the slave hard drive off of IDE0 and setting the pin to cable select on IDE0. Any ideas? the local tech thinks that it is not a hardware issued but a software issue. something to do with Windows XP registry. Please help if you can I am ready to give up on it and go buy a new one if I can't get IDE1 working.
