    Give me some help please...I know a little bit about some of the things that aren't supposed to be there, but I don't want to tell him anything that might screw up his computer.

    Loaded with spyware/viruses. This might take a few steps.


    First you need to move Hijackthis out of the temp directory and into a permanent location such as C:\hijackthis This is a vital step because we will deleting everything in the temp folders later in this fix.



    Open up Adaware. In the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files. Exit Adaware for now.




    Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

    Limewire <- this is where a lot of this junk probably came from.
    LimeShop
    Wild Tangent
    Viewpoint Manager
    NavHelper


    Please download and install CCleaner, but don't run it yet.

    Reboot your computer into Safe Mode



    Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist):

    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
    C:\Program Files\NavExcel Search Toolbar
    C:\Program Files\WildTangent
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Jel387h.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ACLEDIT0.exe
    C:\Program Files\VVSN
    SVCHOSTA.EXE <- be very careful not to delete svchost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bx6q8dc.exe
    C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\tsa
    C:\Program Files\LimeWire
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ms.exe
    C:\Program Files\Ebates_MoeMoneyMaker
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\angelex.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe



    Run CCleaner.


    Run a full scan with Adaware.



    Reboot back to normal mode.



    Please run these two online scans.
    Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

    If there are files that can not be removed by the scans please include that information in your next post.



    Reboot once more and post a new hijackthis log so we can see what's left to deal with.
