RAM question
Hello everybody 
, i got a big problem running my system memory on FSB 400,
at first i had 2*512 Dual Channel CL2.5 pc3200 Twinmos "running".
system crashed at random times and so on. :bawling:
even when i "underclock" them they won't run properly too,
though they are new.
(at 20% of memtest 1.40+ they have like 5000 errors
) .
i know this board isn't famous for running all kinds of memory
and i suggest the memory is ok, but the board doesn't like it. :shakehead
right now i got my old 512 apacer chunk running @ fsb333.
it does no problems at alle, passes memtest like a newborn,
and system is stable. but since the board "should" run memory @fsb400
and my cpu runs @ fsb 400, i'd like to have memory and cpu running equal.
My Question now is, which ram can i use @fsb400 dual channel on this board?
system specs:
amd barton 3.2 @ 2200 MHz and fsb400
asus a7n8x2.0 deluxe
be quiet! 400 watt ps
apacer pc2700 512mb ddr @ fsb333
aopen geforce ti 4200 128 mb
and so on ...
i tried the search function without any helping result :-(
i also searched forums on the web for about one week, without any real tip how get which memory running under fsb 400 on this board.
before you ask :-) my mobo bios is version 1008 (not uber bios)
and yes, i know about the list on the asuspage, and the memory they tested with this board, but try to go to a shop and say : "hi i need this ram, with this die part number and so on..." ... i did
, but nothing to do,
the ram on this list is to old to be available, or too expensive for me :-)
maybe someone got the same board and knows wich memory to use?

I'm fixing to start another thread on memory configurations, among other miscellaneous specifications. (Mainly because I'm having my RAM custom built) You may find it interesting.
The easy answer to your question, however, is to go to crucial's website, and do a search for "A7N8X". It brought up a page of all the memory they offer that is guaranteed to be compatible with our mobo. However, they use Micron chips....if they used samsung, I'd just order from them.

You have to go back a ways to find tests in your mobo, and them most of that memory will not be on the market today.
i gave the new ones back and have my old ones build in right now.
when i should find some fitting on this board by "accident" ill buy them, but im tired of searching :-)
