The Inquirer said it has seen roadmaps that show Intel is steadily adding different components to its desktop microprocessors, in a bid to combat AMD and wrench back its performance crown.
Presler is a 65 nm dual core processor, as is its sister chip Yonah on the mobile front, and sources told the publications that Intel already has early samples of these chips up and running in the fabs.

The Inquirer also said it had credible information that Smithfield dual-cores will be orgenized into the 8xx series.
