How to add a backgrouns sound

My friend has asked me how to add a background sound, music to her website and I don't know the answer to it since I'm a flashy girl.
She built her site in html.
Does she have to bring the song into a directory, and link the directory to her page or something?

Or you could have you're friend embed a flash element to play that sound complete with controls and all that good stuff.
