Ugh, Yet another problem, my computer just restarts over and over at logo

Hello, i formatted my C drive to get rid of xp and i went to install windows 98 again. Well the problem is, the setup runs fine until it gets to the restart computer part. When it does restart my computer, it goes to the windows 98 logo and just restarts. After that, it just keeps going to the windows 98 startup menu. If i put it in safe mode, it restarts to. So basically anything i do it just restarts at logo!

my bios is updated, i checked my cables, everything seems in check...

why do these problems keep happening to me? :bawling:

    Have you tried the hard drive checks yet?
    How about a different power supply?

    How new is your system? It could be a component conflict.

    Insert your 98 cd

    choose boot from cd

    choose "without cd support"

    at a: prompt type "fdisk" press enter

    if asked about large disk support click yes if your drive is bigger than 512mb

    partition screen choose option 3 "delete partition or Logical Dos Drive" hit enter

    choose option 1 "delete Primary Dos Partition" hit enter
    asks wat volume to delete if no volume listed leave blank press enter
    will be asked if sure press "y" then enter

    press esc 3 times till you reach the a: prompt then restart your computer via ALT+Ctrl+Del or the power or reset button

    choose cd

    choose "without cd support"

    a: type "fdisk"

    large disk yes again

    choose option 1 "create Dos partition or logical Dos Drive" press enter

    choose option 1 "create primary dos partition" press enter

    make partition active "yes" (sometimes it ask about maximum size for primary dos partition also if so click yes"

    let it do its thing will ask about something I forget hit enter or yes whatever it ask then when done hit esc till reach a:

    restart and start install "Start windows 98 setup from cd"

    and follow the instructions,I am guessing that the partion is formatted in the NTFS format which is not supported by win98 if so this will help,goodluck S
