Router Problem

edited January 2005 in Science & Tech
Hi I can't launch a billiards game
My home computers connected through broadband ethernet router and seems my computer has one IP and router has another and game cannot find another computer.
I'm sure many people might encounter such a problem, please someone help or point me to some online resources:)

Your problem is most likely not because of the different IPs. Your router is most likely blocking the connection with a firewall. The FAQ of your billiards game will probably tell you what ports it connects to the internet with. You'd need to go into your router's admin console (directions are in the booklet that came with the router) and unblock those ports in the firewall. This is a bad idea for safety's sake, but if you are just dying to play the game it's probably your only choice.

This thread should probably be in the Networking hardware forum, though.
