Problem installing JAVA prog..

i got the installer off my college lecturer so i could do some work at home but its not workin and i wont be in college for a while..

can anyone tell me why im getting this error message i really dont have a clue? :scratch:

    I'm guessing you don't have a recent J2SE installed.

    im guessing not , im seriously lost at this like, must i install a previous version first or somethin?

    You need to download and install the "Java 2 Standard Edition JDK" -- latest should be 1.5.0_01 I think -- before you can run the J2EE stuff.
