Cakewalk releases free beta version of 64-bit SONAR
"Cakewalk has announced the availability of a fully native 64-bit version of SONAR 4 Producer Edition. The x64 Technology Preview version of SONAR 4 includes the entire application, along with a collection of additional DirectX effects, synths, and samplers to spotlight the advantages of music production in a 64-bit processing environment..."
Well it was bound to happen! The first true 64 bit DAW in Public Beta. I'm not a Sonar man but you know the other companies are gonna be right there. But it's still a long way away. 64 bit fidelity blows away 32 bit and will also challenge the 48bit domain of Pro Tools. Cakewalk has always been the closest bed partners (DAW development) to Microsoft and it's no surprise that they are first.
