Help - what do I have?

Hello - I hope that you can assist me - recently while working on the web my computer starting showing 3 - 6 copies of the screen while I was working. They started to turn dark colors then the screen goes black. I am using firefox and went into safe mode and it still happens. I restored to a few days earlier when problem did not occur and all was fine for 2 days and now it is starting all over again. What is the problem and how do I fix it? The computer was purchased 11/04 so it's new with lots of space. I do have a wireless network installed - any suggestions? Please help me as I cannot use the darn thing at all as once it starts I'm literally stuck - it will do nothing. :bawling:

    when you say 3-6 copies of the screen... what exactly are you talking about?

    i'd say you have some kind of virus, but im not sure i understand your situation

    Run an anti-virus softwre program and see if it clears things up. Free ones can be found @ grisoft.com

    I believe your right about the virus - I have been downloading new spware and it still flickers, but so far so good. The copies of the screen are as if someone keeps opening the same window and places it about 1" below the original open window. And this continues down the screen just before it starts to color change and then ultimately to black.
