9800 Pro cable problem?
Hi,
I have had a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro Atlantis 128mb installed in my vanilla Dell Dimension 4300 for about 3 months now.
Nothing is overclocked and I have to date had zero performance or quality issues with the card in fact I have been very impressed.
On booting the machine this morning I recieved the following error:
"You have not connected the power extension cable to your radeon 9800, please see the getting started guide for correct hardware installation!!!"
At this point i can go no further.
I have tried reseating the card, reseating the power extension cable at all terminations, swapping out the power extension cable for a known working one from another PC.
The cooling fan is running and the card is obviously receiving power.
Has anyone had a similar experience or can make any suggestions, I'm kind of stuck.
With thanks in anticipation

If your sure everything is connected right your card probably died and will need to be rma ed.
Call up sapphire and they will tell you exactly what to do.
Try turning off the psu after shutting down.
I had the same problem awhlie back. I had had the card out and actualy forgot to plug the molex back in. I shut it down and plugged it in. Same message. I shut it down. reseated the card and re-seated the power molex. Same message. Just for fun I shut down and then turned the power switch on the psu off. I waited for the light on the mobo to go out and then flicked the psu on and rebooted the machine. all was well.
