Suggestions on host for ecommerce site

edited February 2005 in Internet & Media
Hello - I was hoping for some guidance on making a new ecommerce web site. I have no programming experience so I do not know what program would be good for me to use. I am hoping to use a program that will allow me to use templates and be able to customize the template for my own personal look. I know that I want to use a host that will intergrate with authorize.net for transactions and also allow me to use my business name as the web site. Oh, should I buy my domain name thru the host or on my own? Any help on site hosts, programs, domain name buying, etc would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.oscommerce.com/ for starting off the shoping site. You now need a host that can run PHP. Try here....

oscommerce is a good one (plugin based), but I recommend another cart for the convenience and easyness of newbies to professionals i.e. ZenCart, inwhich they have better templating system too apart form well integrated shopping cart features.

ZENCART is based on OSCOMMERCE but beling developed in an all integrated format which is always advisable especially to newbies.

    http://www.zencart.com/

as our other friend suggested, you need to have PHP & MySql supported host who offers a decent control panel (to easily manage your website features, while ZenCart wil have it's own ADMIN Panel to manage the Ecommerce Site.

Yeah, most of the time, the host who offers webspace wil offer domain too, anyhow, buying domain and space either individually or together is your chocie, while we recommend to go to a single provider for both for your convenience.

this can be a better choice to start from,

Hope things are more clear know now:)

All the Best with your site, post the link of the site here once it is online for us to see.

Feel free to get back incase you require any templates for the shopping cart, you can always contact us for a more personalised template designing and iother requirements too.
