NTI Cd & DVD Maker Gold 6.0 issues

Has anyone here had problems with this software? Each time I want to burn/rip something from a CD to my hard drive it starts an audio internet database access search, but just hangs and I end up having to shut-down the app. before ever getting to burn/rip. I have resided to using Microsoft Media player to burn or rip CD's for now. Any suggestions? Anyone?

Obviously you've used this software; do you have an opinion on it? I'm still p!$$ed that the NTI software doesn't seem to want to work correctly though (i.e. why does it search for an onlne audio database before ripping or buring?). There has got to be some way around this... thoughts? Nice 'pic' by the way I'm new to this site and forum but it is certainly useful and has already helped me rid my comp. of HSA - so thanks to all of you who have helpd come up with the HSA removal guide!

It searches the database cause the program doesn't know the artist or the name of the tracks. It downloads the cd's info so that the songs filenames are correct. If you don't use it, you'll pretty much have a mess of files unless your organize them from the get go. Trying letting Exact Audio Copy search the database and see if you still have the problem. If not, then that NTI software sucks. If you do, maybe you have a firewall that is blocking the port that EAC and NTI use to access the database.

Never thought of the firewall but I don't think that is it as Windows media player does the same thing for finding music info and it works fine. I do understand what it was doing, but am just trying to figure out why NTI doesn't work (I think you are right though the software likely sucks). I will download the softare you suggested and try it out. Thanks for your help.
