Install problems

edited August 2005 in Science & Tech
Hey guys, I need a little help here. Note you are not speaking to a person who is very knowledgable of these things.

Anyway, I am having problems with my mobo when it comes to the installing of the system, or so I think. I have Abit KV8Pro, AMD Athlon 64 3000+. It boots up nicely but then it just doesn't see my HD, and I am guessing it is the SATA problem but I am not sure. It won't run with the ones I got with my mobo, wants the 64-bit ones but their site does not have them yet. Anyone know a way out of this one?

Find out the make and model # of the controller and check the manufacturers website, they should have it. They're typically made by Silicone Image, but it may be a different one.

    Hi Folks !
I am having a simillar problem, I am running Win XP SP2 fine on my system which has an AMD64 Athlon 3000+ with MSI 939 socket Mobo with a Samsung Sata Hdd 80 gb and 1GB DDR ram with 3 partitions 20,30 & 30 Gb.
When I try to Install Win XP 64 bit it says " There is no Hard disk installed on your system !!??....and I had to exit without setting up....any help will be appreciated. I am not an advance user. Thanks
