Please help! How to disable System Restore??

Hi! I hope I'm following the correct ettiquette here. My browser has been hijacked by Home Search Assistant. I am trying to follow the steps to remove it. I have run HijackThis.exe, and I have set my computer to show all hidden files and folders. I am on Win XP, but I can't seem to figure out how to disable System Restore. When I follow the path Start Menu -> Control Panels -> System -> System Restore, I get as far as "System", but the menu that pops up has tabs for General, Network Identification, Hardware, User Profiles, and Advanced, but I cannot find anything as far as a System Restore tab. Similarly, using the alternate method does not work for me. I follow the path tart Menu-> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore, but again there is no "System Restore". There is tart Menu-> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Backup, and "Backup" has a restore tab in it.

Please advise! Thank you very much for helping me out!

    Try this:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
