Trillian won't connect to MSN

I've had problems with MSN for over a year now, both with MSN Messenger and Trillian. I have the latest version of Trillian and for the past day or so it hasn't been able to connect to MSN at all.

Any ideas? I do have a firewalled router... but I haven't changed anything.

I think MSN is down. I can't connect to it with Proteus (mac), and one of my clients can't connect with the legit MSN client either. MSN == dead right now

Mine isn't working either. Maybe that worm that's going around is causing the outage?

Could be - whatever it is, it must be serious, because the entire .net messenger network is down. That's a major thing.

Do any of you know where I can find out what ports or something MSN runs on? Like I said before I have had problems with MSN in the past. It may be down right now, which makes sense, but I'd like to get rid of the other problems when it comes back up. I have a feeling it could be my router doesn't like MSN becuase when I am able to connect it will disconnect from time to time like every 10 minutes sometimes.

MSN Messenger was even worse than Trillian is too... ;D

As many of you may have already noticed the .NET Messenger Service is unavailable at the moment. The official Messenger Sever Status site is showing runtime errors and the MSN Messenger software itself is displaying something similar to this error message:

"We were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service at this time. Please try again later. 80072745"

A very recent downtime, caused by a hardware problem, lasted a few long hours. Let's hope this one is over sooner!

May we also remind you of the fact that today we are expecting a security patch affecting MSN Messenger.

UPDATE: About two hours, later the .NET Messenger Service returned. We have no specifics on the cause of this downtime, and no Microsoft employee (not even a cleaning-lady) has been fired yet.

Straight from the mouth of the Messenger gods. I hate it when it goes under - AIM isn't great, and I don't use any others. :(

    Edit:
I guess there's a post in the News section. Nevermind.
