Microsoft Word help

edited February 2005 in Science & Tech
Hi!
My Microsoft Word (2003) opens all documents in the same window, which is very annoying when I want to flip back and forth between documents. How do I fix this so that each document opens in a new window?
Thanks!

This was checked in my version, which is Office XP. It may vary for you depending on what version you have.

In Word, go to Tools -> Options. The VIEW tab should come up by default, if not, click it. Under the first category heading, "Show", look for a checkmark that says "Windows in Taskbar."

If that item is checked (turned on) you will see each separate Word doc as a window on your Taskbar. If it is off, you will only see one Word task, and have to toggle between them by minimizing the internal document window.

Let us know if that helped.
