Need to know what happened to my Computer

edited February 2005 in Science & Tech
I was playing a game lastnight on Yahoo!, and there was a person, that kept instant messaging me to accept and join a game. Well, everytime I did they'd boot me off. Then they would invite me over and over, and over, until I was clicking as fast as I could to get them off the bottom of my screen. And then all of a sudden, my monitor started flashing, everything you could think of was coming on then off and it finally shut the whole thing down, I had to restart my computer 3 times before I finally got back on. Then when I got on the internet again, I noticed my mouse was failing to work, about then, the same thing happened again everything went crazy, and shut down again. I installed a firewall, and anti-spyware, I already have the Norton Anti-virus. I've never had anything like that happen before, nor do I play games on the internet that much, I just happened to be bored. Does this mean they have access to my computer now? It has put a scare into me. I wanna make sure everything is going to be ok, and they can't do this anymore, or get access to my computer. Also, if I go to Yahoo! again, well I keep having this problem, or will the anti-spyware keep them out? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Next time just ignore the person when they do something like invite/boot you then invite you again, as to what's causing the issues now, I have no clue but if they are in fact getting into your PC your firewall should inform you of this if it's of any quality then you only have to deny them access and clamp them off with the firewall.
