Problem with HiJackThis

I am currently infected with the bestfriends.pif virus unfortunately. I dled hiJackthis yesterday in the hopes of fixing in the problem. the program worked fine but i didn't have enough time to complete the fixing process. today i come home to try and fix the problem but everytime i press "scan files and save logfile" i get an error saying that hiJackthis has encountered a problem and has to close. what is going on?

    please help me this is really such a pain considering it was HiJackThis was working yesterday :(

    i really need someone to please help me out. i'm getting really frustrated and i'm about to just reinstall windows xp. please any1 out there?
