problem with sspmydoom.cih port 345

hi all!

i have a problem with what appears to be a program/spyware :home search assistant and Search extender.They are impossible to delete and cause massive problems as to connection and pc stability.Also a dialer program is installed and is trying to connect to the internet through an uknown modem to me.It s never getting through but shuts the valid connection off so i have to log back on.
Will bying a new antivirus program and running it fix things...or should i run the windows xp repair cd?install everything again?
Or am i in deep ****?

    Please post a hijackthis log so we can get a better look at what's going on.

    I have hijackthis verson 1.97.Should i download version.1.99?
    If i have problem just getting online because of this problem and this homesearch assistant thing what should i do?

    .cih is a Chernobyl (worm hybrid viral) extension. F-Prot AV can kill it for you

    Look for a downloads link, it will want some info, let it have the info, then you can download a fully workable trial. One reason I use it is that so far nothing I have exposed it to turns F-Prot off, unlike some MaAfee and Symantec and other more popular AVs.

    I'd run that F-Prot first, then run HJT 1.98 or 1.99 and post log and wait.

    Current version of hijackthis is 1.99.0 - please post a log using that one.

    i ve seen yr reply and thankx.My problem now is that i can t get online even if the connection is established.I am online but can t get to the address i want and need ..like for instance f-prot.com.The page home search assitant or another one pops up after a while and the adress typed is not responding.

    I ve managed to print out my log yesterday with hijack this 1.97 but i have to type it manually cause i m using another pc now..at work..i will try to post it.

    HELP???
