Please download CWShredder but don't run it yet.
    http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWSInstall.exe

    Download Ad-aware SE from: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Install the program and launch it. First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files. Exit Adaware for now.

Make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

Now run CWShredder, making sure to click "Fix".

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\apicg.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipul32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\leohl.dll

Run a full scan with Adaware.

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log.

I LOVE YOU!!! you are such a genius, whoever you are, i totally think you rock!!! ;D
this place is the best!!!! about:blank problem gone, kernel.32 problem gone, and NO MORE APIQV32.exe WOOHOOO, i love you so much, you would never understand how much i love you.
    once again YOU ROCK!!

i had one SMALL question though. Because i have a shared family computer, in an attempt to hide the weird problems on my computer, i uninstalled internet explorer. I have the install file, but it says there is a newer version on my computer. When i look in my program files, it is still there and runs operational, but it is not on my program list. How do i make it my default browser again? (switching from mozilla firefox)

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

First, you can't uninstall Internet Explorer. It will disappear from the add/remove programs listing, but as you found out, it's still on your computer. Second, why do you want to go back to using the browser that caused all your problems to begin with? I strongly recommend that you use Firefox as much as possible and IE as little as possible.

That being said, here is the answer to your question.

Open up Internet Explorer, click Tools --> Internet Options --> "Programs" tab
Now check the box that says "internet explorer should check to see if it is the default browser". Restart IE, and click yes when you're asked if you want IE as default browser.
