Please search your computer for the location of this file and let me know where it is.

    WINAMP6.EXE

Do you, or did you have Kazaa on this computer? Do you have an antivirus?

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

    Wild Tangent
    Viewpoint Manager

    Reboot your computer.

You are using an older version of Hijackthis. Please download the current version and post a new hijackthis log.

    ok this file

    WINAMP6.EXE-140E390E.pf

    is located in c:\WINDOWS\prefetch

I deleted all the viewpoint crap... ADD/REMOVE programs would not let me delete the WildTangent Web Driver, wierd? If that winamp file is the problem I know what I pretty much have to do. Bestfriends has eliminated the use of Taskmanager so I can't stop the virus from running. I believe I just need to go in to safe mode and make sure the process isn't running and delete it from there. I thought I would just check to make sure I'm on the right track here... Here is my new update HJT log. I would appreciate checking for any other spyware or abnormalities in this log if you could. I greatly appreciate it!

After looking through System32 I found the winamp6 file and it is hidden... should I go into safe mode and destroy that son-a-ma-bitch?

Place a checkmark next to these entries, close all browsers and windows, and have HijackThis fix them by clicking Fix Checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Winamp Player 6] WINAMP6.EXE
    O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Winamp Player 6] WINAMP6.EXE
    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist):

    C:\Program Files\WildTangent
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Winamp6.exe

    Delete temp files

Navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Navigate to the C:\Windows\Prefetch folder. Open the Prefetch folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Prefetch folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

    Empty the Recycle Bin.

    Reboot back to normal mode.

I don't see an antivirus running in your log. Please download and install AVG. It's a very good antivirus, and it's free.

    http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg70free_300a419.exe

Follow the prompts to install all updates and then run a full scan.

Reboot once more and post a new hijackthis log. Let me know what AVG found.
