Desktop/Background will not load

edited February 2005 in Science & Tech
Hi
I recently had/am possibly still having a problem with Home Search Assistant, a huge spyway pain in the ass, and I think something may have gone wrong in the process of fixing it, possibly in HijackThis or the registry, and my background will no longer load. I get this white screen, and I can't right click or anything where the wallpaper should be. It's not a major problem, but it's pretty annoying and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what it's from/how to do anything about it.

Any help would be great!

What happens if you go into Control Panel, click on "Display" then click the "Desktop" tab?

Right, also look for a big lettered set of words that say Restore Active Desktop, underl;ined, and click them to try and get your desktop back. IF you have a file that is a picture or graphic used for desktop background then sometimes if that file gets messed you get that screen.
