Which raid drive and setup

I currently have two 80 gb Wd drives setup in raid-1 using the IDE --> SATA adapters that came with my NF7-S. I would like to upgrade to two 160 gb SATA drives. I was wondering what the majority of people use/suggest?

When I set this up, I need to copy some of the information on the current drives to the new ones, can I just remove the adapter and connect it with an IDE cable?

Is there something special I need to do for a large hard drive? I seem to remember something about a limit of 137gb that can be recognized before you have to do soemthing else. Thanks for the help.

you need to install sp1 or sp2 to see the larger drives correctly with XP for example.

In theory moving one of the raid-1 drives to the normal ide connection should work fine.

What brand of hard drive is like asking what color hair is best on a woman. Everyone has an opinion.

I am not partial to WD's except the raptors. Seagates are very quiet. The maxtor and hitachi's are very fast.

I tend to find myself buying maxtors mostly these days but the only make I avoid is the WD's.
