Snow... that's so cool! No pun intended. I come from the south, so to see snow in person is one hell of a moment. The only times I have ever seen a good amount of snow was when my family went snow skiing in Colorado when I was 5 years old. But it did snow ONCE where I lived in Texas, but it was gone by the afternoon, and the small snow man we made lasted till the evening. After that thee only times I ever saw snow again was in small patches in Colorado when I went on retreats there during spring every other year, and it sometimes snows in Dallas, but it melts as soon as it hits the ground.
Come to michigan in january, you can stay at my house and I'll take you to see REAL snow. We'll go to the snowbelt in northern michigan, where weird lake effects from all these major bodies of water combined with air direct from the arctic combine to create feet upon feet of thick billowing white snow, almost for the entire winter.
Here are some pics of how it looked like last year when it was winter or Christams in Ottawa! I remember when I was very young, I stuck my head in one of the little peep holes in the Redeau Canal and I couldn't get my head out. Other then that I did had fun!
We hardly ever get snow anymore. When I was young it snowed every year. I remember playing on the local golf course with sledges etc. My 11 year old has seen snow twice, and very thin, temporary snow at that.
