Got a new HDTV...what Video card can play my PC on it?

Ok guys, I just got a new HDTV. Now Im looking to possibly buy a graphics card that can display stuff in these HDTV resolutions on my HDTV(720p, 1080i). Is this possible? What cables and stuff do I need to buy? And what do I have to look for on the graphics card specifications to know it can display HDTV resolutions.

    Get ready for a lot of trial and error. I went through all of this a little over a year ago, with unsatisfactory results.


    I ended up using a Radeon 9700 Pro with DVI for the connection to the TV. I had to use an app called Powerstrip to mess with resolutions, and when I did get it all working OK the sides of the display were cut off, because I could not resize my TVs display.

    http://www.avsforum.com/ is a very good place to get info on what resolutions, and timings are required for youre TV.
