Got a letter today in the mail. Not computer related.. Or is it?

This isn't really urgent, and doesn't really concern computers.. :s lol.

Umm anyone know a good forum where I can get some legal avice? I was given a letter (I live in Canada) that said:

This is to notify you that pursuant to the provisions of section 196(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada, you were the object of an interception of private communications. This interception was made pursuant to an authorization granted in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canda.

Any ideas? Can someone put this into plain english for me? I have to go later tonight to pick something up (not just me, but my whole family). What's going on?

(oh and thanks to who ever helped me last time :) My net works)

If I'm reading it correctly, Canadian authorities were granted the right to intercept some communication you made.. Internet, phone, something. IE, you were "Wire tapped."

Don't post what you did wrong!! It could be used as evidence... I'd delete this thread and go find legal advice around where you live.

The Canadians are so polite, they send you letters telling you that they've been wire tapping you, it's a wonder they don't ask permision first. I mean seriously, if he was here (in the states) he wouldn't know they were doing anything remotely like that until they drug him downtown and tossed him on a holding cell.
