3.1 from 2.1 system + monitor speaker?

So I have recently purchased a 2.1 speaker set (Creative T3000) and today I recieved my polyview 19" flat screen from newegg. What I would like to do, if possible, is turn the small speakers on the monitor into a center speaker to have a quasi- 3.1 system. Is this possible to anyone's knowledge? Currently I am using the onboard sound from my NF-7, but I will be installing a Soundblaster Live! 24-bit card tomorrow (they are on sale for $20 from comp-usa btw). Any help is, as always, very appreciated.

I would think the best you could do is make the monitor act as a regular stereo speaker, it would probably just ruin the left-right effect though

Yeah, that was my first thought. The diagram in the Soundblaster box shows that you are supposed to use the LineOut 3 jack for the Center and Subwoofer. I am hesitant to hook this directly up to my monitor's speaker jack as I don't know what affect the sub line would have. I'm guessing that one of the two speakers would be the center and the other would try to be the sub, which is obviously no good. Unfortunatly I'm thinking I won't be able to work this :(
