Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30 Strikes Gold
Gearbox's gritty WWII squad shooter on schedule to ship March 1 for the Xbox; story follows the 101st Airborne.
Source: GameSpotIt's time to sharpen those bayonets, soldiers. Ubisoft today announced that Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 has gone gold and is set to ship for the Xbox on March 1. The title was developed by Texas-based Gearbox, whose most recent project was bringing Halo to the PC.
Ubisoft touts Brothers in Arms as one of the most authentic WWII shooters to date. In fact, the development team based the gameplay on real battles from WWII, aerial reconnaissance photos, and personal accounts. The game follows the true exploits of the 101st Airborne paratroopers as they drop behind enemy lines in rural France. Gamers will assume the role of Sergeant Matt Baker as he leads his squad, two of whom were the war's most decorated soldiers, through authentically re-created battles.
The game combines fast action with squad-based tactics--think Call of Duty meets Full Spectrum Warrior. The game will feature more than 20 characters, each with their own advanced artificial intelligence that gives them personality and combat style. In addition to the 20 single-player missions in the campaign mode, Brothers in Arms will feature multiplayer support over Xbox Live for up to four players. Players will control a squad and take their men in competitive every-squad-for-themselves or two-on-two action.
