safe diode temp?
i knew back in the thunderbird days <50C was considered nominal... and how everyone almost had a heart attack when then saw their temps rise 10c after abit released bios that no longer idled the cpu (support for the 1.4tbird on the kt7(a))...
but now that we can get the diode temps...whats a good comfy temp range to be in @ 100% load. now i know what amd says with 85c and 90c...but im talking temps u me and that other guy try to avoid going above...
info appreciated

I have alos seen the white pages and agree those temps are high. I have my BIOS and Hardware monitor set to shut my system down at 60C. This is a very safe temp and unless my fan fails I will never reach. But 70C is no problem to the CPU either. Go with the White pages and form your own opinion as to what your normal temps are. If you never go over 55C after gaming than 60C to 70C auto shutdown is great.

...so..say 54c @ 100% true load is not a bad temp then? I can run my proc upto 2.2ghz speeds, but i dont want the cpu to fry. setting the bios to shut down @ 60c sounds like a solid plan. does the bios read off the diode temp or the cpu surface temp?
anyone else with an opinion?

I installed a fan and temp probe to the backside of my Mobo and it gets up to 38.8C. I dont know what it was before I did that but I have to imagine it is cooler for it.
