One last thing: How do I give my Folding@home program the GREEN light?

Say I am going to be out of town and I want to say to this application:

"Yo! USE IT! USE IT ALL! USE ALL THE RAM, HD, CPU, what ever you need. I have to depart for a little so don't worry about being a little greedy. Kisses!"

How would you configure such a statement for OSX? :D

actually just tell f@h to use 100% (default) with idle state priority and your should be ok.
Also ...disable any unecessary processes in the background and you should be on your way! :fold:

Oh yeah ...and have a nice trip and return safely!

csimon called it. Folding will use whatever resources you're not using for something else. If you're off in the Bahamas (or wherever) it will gleefully use all of it.

Hopefully primesuspect will happen across this thread and offer some Mac-specific advice. He's one of our Team 93 SuperStars (like csimon - our top man!) and has a Mac Folding in his arsenal. :)

Like I mentioned earlier I can only imagine that a mac would fold at a screaming rate on tinkers because of the floating point structure. If it has SSE then that's a plus. It just seems that some cpu's provide better service folding tinkers because they do them at such a higher rate than others (no names p4lease).

In my short time folding on a mac, I never found a way to reconfigure the client, save for deleting client.cfg from the Library, since shortcuts (excuse me, aliases) don't work the same on a mac...

You might try holding down the option key while you start it. Just an idea that popped into my brain. I have no way to test it though. :(

By default, you are folding at 100%. Make sure you Quit all your other running apps (any icon with an arrow under it in the dock), and folding will use 100% of your processor while you're gone.

Basically, it uses what other programs aren't using.
