Hello everyone. First time boster but LONG time browser :) Anyhow, down to business. I'm setting up laptops for our district managers at work and used NetZero as the ISP for their mobil accounts. Unfortunately though the Outlook Express will not connect to our SMTP server and send mail. I keep getting a 0X800CC0E error telling me it cant connect to our SMTP. I know the send/recieve config is correct, even my boss agreed that it wasnt the problem. Has anyone known or heard of any NetZero problems with using SMTP other then theirs?

Well, looking at the Microsoft one makes me want to call our Email provider...but if that was the case then none of our email would be working.

When its connected to the LAN here at work, it sends and recieves great. When connected to NetZero through dialup then it doesnt work at all. Starting to make me a little frustraited.

I'm guessing it is some type of setting that needs to be changed while you are connected to Netzero. It is the same situation we have here at work.

We host mail servers for some businesses who don't use us as their ISP. So we need to set there incoming mail server as ours, and the outgoing as there ISP. It could be the same situation you are having. You might need to change your outgoing mail server to Netzero's outgoing mail server.

Also we require our users to authenticate with our mail server, but if they do not use us as their ISP then they do not have to, because we only require it to send out mail, which they don't send mail out through us.

Yeah, I think you just hit the nail on the head Clutch. It's a common problem. If you're mail servers are not hosted by your ISP, then you need to pipe all outgoing mail through your ISP's mail server instead of your own.

Your mail server settings would look (very roughly ;)) something like this:

    pop3.[yourserver].com
    smtp.[yourISPserver].com

    Hope that helps.
