Aim Beach Virus strikes again

So I recently was stupid enough to get the AIM "pictures at the beach virus" and I was able to figure out how to remove it. The main virus is housed in these two lines that can be found when you run HijackThis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Winsecure Antivirus] SECUREANTIVIRUS.EXE
O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)
-apparently norton or ad-aware removed the zeta file but it was still appearing in my HijackThis readout

I allowed all hidden files to be seen, rebooted in safe mode, and searched for 2 things:
"zeta.exe" and "secureantivirus.exe"
(The search for zeta.exe took about one minute, the search for secureantivirus.exe took about 15.)

There was a text document that arose for zeta.exe which I deleted and for secureantivirus there was an exe and a txt file.

I did not delete ad-aware or HijackThis log files that were also found. It is always good to keep your log files.

Then I rebooted and ran HijackThis and those 2 lines were still in my readout. I clicked them in HijackThis to be fixed and then I rebooted. This removed them from the list so I'm not exactly sure if the removal in safe mode was necessary, but I would recommend doing it anyway to be safe. Then I ran ad-aware with the LX add-on and Spybot S+D.

I am happy to say that I no longer have the virus. I hope this works for any of you that are infected and stumble along onto this site. Good luck.

    Actually this line is not associated with any Aim virus. It's adware.

    O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)

    So you probably won't see this line in your hijackthis log. But you're dead on correct on the other file. :thumbsup:

    Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

    Viewpoint Manager
    Viewpoint Media Player



    Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

    Place a checkmark next to these entries, close all browsers and windows, and have HijackThis fix them by clicking Fix Checked:

    Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

    Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\cluonui.exe

    C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint


    Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log.

    Thanks for the help. I followed your instructions point by point. I do not know what mediapass is... i will look further and if I hear it is spyware also, will delete the same was as I did others, first fix in HijackThis, then delete in safe mode. This is my latest readout:
