well it seems as though i have "teken care" of my BSOD problems, as far as i can tell my hdds were too close together and over heating. but i have a new problem, it seems that every so often the mouse cursor will disappear and the whole system will freeze about 10 seconds later, sound skipping and the whole nine, has any 1 else encountered this problem?

so far it has done it overnight twice, and twice today, i ran the maxtor disk check on my system and it found nothing, memtest proves negative, so im leaning twards a software issue. last time it did it i was watching a movie and when it booted back up i got a 1003 ID event error

There's a lot of info on "1003 ID event errors". Is there more to the error message?

A few things I checked pointed to a Video driver problem, (which goes along with the problem occuring while watching a movie), and with some 3D screensavers.

Since it also happened overnight, you might try changing or disabling your screensaver.

That goes along with something I found:
Error code 000000ea = "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER" - A device driver is spinning in an infinite loop, most likely waiting for hardware to become idle. This usually indicates problem with the hardware itself, or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. In many cases this is the result of a bad video card or a bad display driver.
    :(

Try cleaning out your video driver and reinstalling it. If that doesn't help, maybe try a different driver version.

are there any utilityies that test the memory on video cards?

whatever is causing it it seems as though turning VPU recover on makes it come back to life ware as before the system would just totally freeze, i tried it in Q3 RA and i let it sit for a few seconds and it came back, and it wasnt a game glitch cuzse my gamma got reset in the game, :\ i just wanna know what it is so i can fix it
