got my amd 64 mobile chip today

Don't ya just hate waiting on the last parts you ordered to straggle in when you order stuff? MB and cpu sitting here waiting on the dad gum memory to get here on Tuesday.

Hope the mobile cpu doesnt throw me a wrench trying to get it to work in my MB.

    At least you have another socket 754 A64 you can flash the bios with for it to work if needed, huh Tex?

    yep. Thats why I wasnt sweating it to much. Worst case I bet the msi neo will support the mobile chip and I can put the regular 3200+ in the new micro atx MB.

    Just cause its micro-atx and needs to be quiet was why I wanted to try the mobile chip thinking it would run cooler.

    The mobile was for thew tiny "home entertainment" box I was building to put up stairs with the TV and stuff.

    everyone keeps saying it will run 8-9 degrees cooler. Would be great.

    Don't see anything in the bios history comments about support for the mobil cpu on either board I own either so should be interesting to say the least.

    memory gets here tomorrow unless I get antsy and rip a 512mb stick out the box I'm typing this on.

    I'm now scarfing for a socket 939 cpu to package with a MB with dual pci-e or single pci-e and agp.

    if I get that sorted in the next week I'll probably sell my socket 754 MSI neo fisr and 3200+ cpu. Sorta hate to do it as its been a nice setup..
