WoW Easter Eggs

1. Have someone put greater detect invisibility on you, and step into the courtyard of the Undercity.

2. Disable the music, enable all sounds, and turn all the sound volume sliders all the way up. Put yourself on walk mode and approach the fallen bell in the Undercity, then walk down the corridor and stand in the center of the sigil in the court of the fallen king Menethil.

3. In the Barrens, there's a "Shrine of the Fallen Hero." Seems pretty out of place, doesn't it? Go around to the front of it, and look at the sepulcher. There are two orcish letters on the front, "MK." Michael Koiter was a Blizzard developer who died in the making of World of Warcraft. If you suicide and run up to that shrine as a ghost, there's a spirit healer named Koiter up there.

4. Booty Bay, there's the goblin with the outstretched arms on a pinnacle of stone. That place is called Janeiro's Point. Ever seen Mother Mary in Rio de Janeiro?

5. When you slam the staff into the small model village in Uldaman, and the beam unlocks the door, go watch Raiders of the Lost Ark.

6. In Stratholme, /dance with the spirits, and they dance with you. /rude them, and.. well.. I'm not responsible for the consequences.

7. In Un'Goro crater, there's a quest that has you recover a gorilla named A-Me. Michael Crichton's <u>Congo</u> had a gorilla named Amy, that spoke in the same broken English and was also mechanically enhanced.

8. Hemet Nesingwary in Stranglethorn Vale is a direct play on Earnest Hemingway, who was a renowned hunter.

9. If you do the Horde quest "Guns of Northwatch" out of Ratchet, you have to kill two cannoneers named Smythe and Whessan. ;)

10. If you wipe to the Emperor in Blackrock Depths, he yells "Hail to the King, baby!"

11. There are punchcards in Gnomeregan with binary on them. Those binary digits aren't random.

12. In the Orgrimmar inn, there's a thing on the table that looks very much like a bong. A troll is sitting at that table... He never stops laughing. :p

13. In Menethil Harbor and in Tarren Mill, the chapel bells ring every hour, on the hour.

14. There's a blue-class sword floating around in game called the "Hanzo Sword." Equip it, and it looks like a katana.

15. The "Six-Demon Bag," a blue-class trinket found primarily from Azsharan Blood Elves and Hippogryphs. Anyone seen Big Trouble in Little China?

16. At Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands, there's a quest-giver that sends you to his Dwarven friend near Stratholme who is investigating ghost activity. His name? Egan. "I ain't afraid of no ghosts..."

17. Not so much an easter egg, but if you go to the mage quarter in Undercity near the back, there's an NPC warlock teaching a class about demonology summons to a group of students. When the class ends and the students are dismissed, he announces he'll be giving another lesson very soon.

18. Ever eaten a deviate fish? Thrax suggests you try one.

19. In Elwynn Forest at the Eastvale Lumber Co., there's an NPC named Terry Palin with the guild/faction name of Lumberjack. I wonder if he receives scorn for hanging around in bars?

20. These two I've found really do go together.. In Zul'farrak, a three-headed monster is summoned by the name of Gahz'rilla. In Blackfathom Deeps, a boss-class turtle is named Gamoo-ra.

21. In Stratholme, there's a series of events that have you killing undead (Disgruntled..) postmen in the burning city. When completed, you get to face Post Master Malown. When someone dies to him, he says "You have been MALOWNED!"

22. If you've ever done the Samophlange quest, the samophlange is only mentioned once elsewhere on earth. Go find Thundercats outtakes. It's a flash video. Listen carefully.

23.: Load <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/realmtypes.html&quot; target="_blank">this</a> page in internet explorer. Highlight the undead picture. Doesn't work in Firefox.

24. Have two female night elves sit down and face one another. Have them both activate the /clap emote.

25. Fighting Techbot outside of Gnomeregan permits a spell to be cast on you called "Battle Net." It makes you unable to move or attack. Mouse over it, and the description says "...Waiting for players." ;D

26. In Lower Blackrock Spire (55+ raid instance), there's a gigantic pool of lava. Throwing a warlock's eye of kilrog into the lava reveals a metal arm at the bottom of the basin. T-800 cybernetic being, anyone? Do de do.

27. Head out to Desolace, and slaughter yourself near the Kodo Graveyard. The Taurens have always taken a fond delight in the spiritual connection to the venerable Kodo, and it seems their religious protection of them is for good reason. Watch what happens when one of the ailing Kodos comes for its final rest in that field of bones.

28. Head down to the western zone mountains in Tanaris, and locate the goblin racecar facing east.. As if it went right through the mountain. Who's seen Buckaroo Bonzai?

BONUS: An item is floating around called "Finkle's Skinner." The description states "Once belonged to the great hunter Finkle Einhorn."

BONUS II: Purchase a cubic zirconia ring from Booty Bay, the description states "Trust me. She'll know."

BONUS III: In Un'Goro Crater, which is a referential goldmine (Crichton, Land of the Lost, Mario and Luigi, Zelda, etc...) the monkies (Gorillas) drop barrels. Hmmm. ;)

What have you gents discovered?

//EDIT:

Something I just found by mistake. I lagged like crazy in the king's throne room in Ironforge, and died randomly (Thanks WoW!) -- There's a door you can only pass through as a ghost, to the left of the throne. It's the entrance to Old Ironforge!

A few more things.

You can get to Mount Hyjal, currently disabled, if you kill yourself outside the zone in Winterspring and then ghost into it and Rez.

You can do the same thing to the disabled instance, "Caverns of Time" in Tanaris.

Both are bannable offences, but I've done both. Heh.

So these disabled instances, are there any good drops in them? Or are there no monsters in them yet?

Wow! Did you find all of those yourself? I already knew about the Kodo Graveyard one, I'm questing in Desolace now.

I've always wondered about the Shire of the Fallen Warrior, though. I often passed near there in ghost from. Great find!

No monsters yet, and most can't even be gotten into as even the non-instanced vestibules are blocked. Caverns of Time is one of the rare few that can be..uh..Exploited into.

Just a note: Don't fall/jump into the lava in Old Ironforge. Your ghost will be forever stuck. heh.
