    So is E4 better than E3? The model # is different as well. Its BN and all the others are changing to BP.

    I'm assuming...
    E4 = 90nm 1024K cache
    E3 = 90nm 512K cache

    Oh yeah....I dont see a reason to get a 4000+ or 4200+ over an FX. The only difference between them was the cache and now there is no difference besides the price. I wonder if that means they will add more cache to the FX series just to put it above the A64 line.

    The FX-55 2.6ghz 1MB cache CPU is being phased out. The new King of CPUs, The FX-57 2.8ghz 1MB Cache CPU should appear soon.

    Any word on whether the FX-57 will be 90nm or 130nm?

    I have D0 does that mean with a bios update i can have SSE3 or is it just the new ones? i read the link but wasn't certain

    SSE3 is on the chip. No BIOS update will give you SSE3. You will need to buy one of these new chips. A BIOS update will allow it to be properly recognized, thats all.

    And will probably be necessary

    I cant wait to see what kind of overclocking overhead that will bring :D , especially the fact that it will be SSOI

    The Inq: Athlon 64 revision E won't work on some Nforce 3/4 boards
    PROBLEMS APPEAR to be affecting Athlon 64 revision E chips on some Nforce 3 and Nforce 4 motherboards. Symptoms include motherboard shut down and failure to boot, according to reports here from CeBIT.
    Revision E chips from AMD are just released and brings stuff like SSE3 support inside a 90 nanometre die. AMD on the other hand didn't make a big noise about its announcement.

    We learned that if you have this Athlon and already have Nforce 3 or Nforce 4 board that there is a big chance that you may encounter problems. We are told that AMD changed its thermal regulation protection and that's what makes it incompatible with at least some of the Nforce 3 and Nforce 4 boards out there.

    In order to solve these problems, new motherboards might be necessary and there doesn't appear to be an instant fix. We are attempting to gather more details here in Hannover. µ
