Sony G500 missing green.. unless it's tilted 90º..??

edited March 2005 in Hardware
So, I've just acquired a Sony Trinitron G500 monitor with a slight defect: green doesn't display. Upon opening the case and disconnecting/reconnecting some cables, I just happened to power the monitor on when it was laying sideways and there was green! Unfortunately at that point the blue cuts out, and the left and right sides of the monitor glow extra green. Does anyone have any idea what I might do to get this missing color back? Thanks!

Seems like you need to return it... I'm guessing you've tried various options in the MENU?

There's not a setting on anywhere on the menu that will fix it.

After rereading your post, it seems it is definitly broken, I had a G400 Trinitron, it did nothing like that when it was still alive.

Well, yes, it's obviously broken.. I'm just trying to figure out if there's some sort of simple repair, or if I'd be better to just sell it "as is" on eBay and see who bites.
