Cpu Stock Voltage

edited March 2005 in Hardware
Hi, I"m running a p4 2.4C processor on an asus p4p800SE motherboard, I run cpu-id and the voltage is at 1.6, but the stock voltage i set in the bios is 1.525V, Why is it overclocked?

its not overclocked, that would mean the cpu speed was increased.

your mobo is just over-volting. its not a big deal

It's not uncommon for mobos to undervolt or overvolt the vcore. Plus, a lot of Asus P4 mobos have a voltage droop problem when under load, so it might be at the right vcore when the proc is fully loaded. Anyways, it's nothing to get worried about.

and from my experience some versions of CPUID reports incorrect voltage reading anyways.
